Read access, granted by you, withdrawn whenever you want.

Aegis by Rainmkr needs read access to your Amazon listing content in order to review it. You grant that access through Amazon’s own authorization flow, and you can withdraw it at any time.

How the connection works

Step 1

In Aegis by Rainmkr, select Connect Amazon Account.

Step 2

You are redirected to Amazon Seller Central and asked to sign in. You enter your credentials on Amazon’s site, not ours. We never see your password.

Step 3

Amazon shows you exactly which permissions Aegis by Rainmkr is requesting. Review them and choose whether to approve.

Step 4

If you approve, Amazon returns an authorization token to us. We store it encrypted and use it only to retrieve the data described below.

Step 5

You are returned to Aegis by Rainmkr, and the first catalog sweep begins.

What we ask for, and why

We request read access to the listing content we need in order to review your catalog, plus the identifiers that tell us which account and which marketplaces the authorization covers.

Amazon lists every permission we request on its consent screen, in its own words, before you approve anything. Read that screen — it is the authoritative list, and nothing outside it is granted.

What Amazon’s consent screen says

When you connect, Amazon shows this: “Aegis by Rainmkr requires access to view and edit the following data related to your account: Selling Partner Insights, Product Listing.”

Amazon words every role as “view and edit”. Aegis by Rainmkr only reads. We request these two roles and no others:

Product Listing. Lets us read your listing content, attributes and status.
Selling Partner Insights. Tells us which account and which marketplaces the authorization covers.

We request no finance, order, pricing or inventory role.

What we do not do with this access

The first is outside the authorization entirely. The other four the listing role would technically permit, and Aegis by Rainmkr does not do them: it only ever reads.

Your bank account, disbursements and financial settings are outside the authorization. We request no finance role, so they cannot be reached.

We never change your prices or your inventory.

We never place, cancel, or modify orders.

We never edit or publish your listings. We read them.

We never contact your customers.

Connect your Amazon account

You will be taken to Amazon to review the permissions and approve them there. We never see your Seller Central password, and you can withdraw the access at any time.

New connections paused

We are finishing automatic deletion of data from disconnected accounts before opening new connections. Email sales@rainmkr.us and we will tell you when it reopens.

Withdrawing authorization

You can disconnect at any time, either inside Aegis by Rainmkr or from Apps and Services in Seller Central. Full instructions and what happens to your data are on our Data Deletion and Account Disconnection page.

Independence from Amazon

Aegis by Rainmkr is an independent third-party application. Authorizing the connection does not mean Amazon has reviewed, endorsed, or recommended our product. Amazon and related marks are the property of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
